Description
When: December 1, 2024 - January 31, 2025
What: Virtual Challenge to complete a set number of miles through walking or running, or a set number of hours of exercise (biking, yoga, etc)
Why: Move Through the Darkness is a collaboration between Imagine Zero of Weld County and Windsor Gives to provide you with an opportunity to focus on your mental, emotional, and physical health. Losing daylight, self-care time and healthy habits can lead to a feeling of hopelessness, depression, sleeping too much, low energy and ultimately an increase in suicide rates nationwide.
How: This challenge is completely free and open to anyone world-wide. Sign up and complete the challenge as individual and/or team. For teams, the distance or time you choose is the collective amount of miles or time broken up as you choose. If you sign up to run/walk, all of your miles must be completed by running and/or walking. If you sign up for Hours of Activity, you can complete your hours with any combination of activities.
Distances: 100 Mile, 250 Mile, or 400 Mile Challenges - done individually or as a group of 2-6. 400+ miles for teams over 6!
Hours of Activity: You can complete 25, 45, or 65 hours of activities outside of your normal daily routine. For groups of 2-6, the hours are 150, 270 or 390 total. 390+ hours for groups over 6. For example yoga, pickle ball, bike riding, exercise classes, are just a few examples. Once you complete your activity, log the time that activity took and in the comments what the activity was.
Donate and/or fundraise as individual or team for your 2023/24 MTD challenge. All donations/fundraising efforts from the MTD Challenge go to the finisher beanies or shirts, and additional amounts go to Imagine Zero of Weld County to provide suicide education, awareness and to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide, and to Windsor Gives, a 501(c)3, to produce the finisher beanies.
